LutonAid Music Academy - registered charity no. 1147211

2014 was a bit of a milestone in LutonAid’s history, as we celebrated the tenth event in a new venue at the Carnival Arts Centre. However, 2015 will be an even bigger celebration as it is the tenth year that LutonAid has been running.

Started in 2005, the then one-day event was put together by Mariana Brown in memory of Bill Candlish and to raise funds for Keech Hospice for Adults and Children. With only one stage and 10 bands, it was planned as a one-off. However, Mariana decided to do it again the following year, and then again, and again.

LutonAid’s tenth birthday is in 2015

LutonAid 2015 will take place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July 2015 at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts, Luton.

Band applications are now closed.

In 2011, a committee was introduced and in 2012, LutonAid achieved charity status. Over the last ten years, it has showcased hundreds of different bands and acts, from rock and metal through to acoustic, poetry and comedy acts. It has raised thousands of pounds for charity.

Although LutonAid is a rather unimaginative title, it sums it up really; local bands and people kindly giving their time and talent to bring people together to raise money for Keech Hospice Care for Adults and Children and LutonAid Music Academy (LAMA).

The reason
LutonAid has been so successful, and continues to take place each year, is thanks to the small army of volunteers and the bands and artists who give up their time. Most recently, supporters are investing more time and effort into side projects to help increase the funds raised and help LutonAid continue to grow with each passing year.

LutonAid is a fantastic day out for live music lovers, but don’t take our word for it, come and see for yourself in 2015. This year’s event will take place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July 2015 at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts, Luton.
